SONATA, 2024 Commissioned by architect Peter Marino for the Tiffany & Co. Blue Box Cafe Mexico City, this work references a series of historic glass vases manufactured in the 19th century for Tiffany & Co by Thomas Webb & Sons, Stourbridge, England (Vase in the Chinese Taste, ca. 1885–90). Sonata is comprised of 79 hand-thrown and hand-painted earthenware plates that hang in an organic, jewel-like arrangement. Finished with hand painted underglaze, glaze and 22 karat gold luster.
